Maurice Sanderson, is the landowner who farms at the former Skipton-on-Swale base. Mr. Sanderson has left the buildings intact as much as possible, which has made visits by families and veterans meaningful. Mr Sandserson was a young teenager during WW2. In 2008, Betty Bodaly and her daughters returned to the site where her husband was based during the war.
