Cameron Clare Campbell Journal Notes - Going Home

Previous | Home | Next

The military devised a point system to determine the priority for repatriation to Canada, as all the allies were queuing up for Troop Ships.

Airmen recieved 2 points for each month of service in Canada and 3 points for each month overseas, and a 20% bonus if married. A high score got you home faster, but top points were reserved for those who volunteered for the Pacific War. In many cases, crew did not get to go home together. Cam and Wally had both volunteered, so they were among the first returning, as Cam notes in his journal.
